Privacy notice
The short version: we collect what you type into the enquiry form, we use it to arrange your free remote design appointment, we pass it to the local OVO installation partner for your area so they can prepare your design, and you can tell us to stop at any time.
Who we are
OVO Solar & Battery is the home solar and battery installation service delivered with OVO's vetted regional installation partners. Your enquiry is handled by our appointment team and the partner that covers your postcode.
What we collect, and why
When you send the enquiry form we collect your name, contact details, address, and your answers about the property, your electricity spend, what you are interested in and when suits you for a call, plus anything you add in the notes box. We use them to book and prepare your free remote design appointment, and for the two advertising uses below.
When you send an enquiry we may ask two optional questions, how you first heard of OVO Solar & Battery and whether you saw our adverts, so we know which of our adverts and channels work. The answers go to your enquiry record.
How we measure and target our adverts
We tell Meta, which runs Facebook and Instagram, whether you booked and went to your design appointment. It's how we see which of our adverts work. We may also share a list of our customers and enquiries with Meta. That lets Meta show our adverts to people like you, or stop showing them to you. Your email address and phone number are scrambled (hashed) before they leave us. We don't share anything else. We rely on our legitimate interest in knowing which adverts work and who to show them to. You can ask us to stop either use at any time by replying to any message from us.
Cookies and site analytics
This site runs the Meta Pixel, which sets its own cookie in your browser under Meta's terms so we can see how enquiries reach us from Meta's ad platform. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, from our hosting provider, to see which pages are read and which buttons and forms are used. It is cookieless and records aggregated, anonymous page views and interactions only. We never send it your name, postcode, phone number or anything you type into the form. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs.
Who sees your details
Your details go to our appointment team, the systems we use to manage bookings, and the regional OVO installation partner matched to your postcode, so they can prepare your design and quote. We never sell your data. Meta also receives the limited details described in How we measure and target our adverts.
How long we keep them
We keep enquiry details for as long as we are actively helping you, then for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back, after which they are deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to stop contacting you, or to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, by replying to any message from us or texting STOP to any text we send. Under UK GDPR you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
